Cat Pose is an Invigorating and Strengthening Core Pose

The exhalation portion of cat pose.
My favorite yoga pose is known as Cat Pose, or Marjaryasana.
This pose begins from a kneeling position. From kneeling, assume the "tabletop" position, with palms on mat, beneath shoulders and knees directly beneath hips. While exhaling, round your spine upwards, taking care to keep your palms and knees in the same place. Then, let your head hang loose, but don't force it. As you inhale, return to the beginning position. This pose stretches the back and gently massages the stomach organs. It's a terrific stress reliever, particularly when paired with other core poses.

Samantha Anne
