Dhanurasana Yoga Exercise for Overall Slimming

Yoga is a process of gaining control over the mind. It integrates the personality by bringing body-mind coordination in a well balanced way.
I had a c-section and after that I began gaining weight. One of my friends advised me to take a course in yoga and that was what I did. It opened up a new energy in me.
Although all the yoga practices help in one way or the other my favorite is an asana by name DHANURASANA where the body takes the shape of a bow.
This is how it is practiced...
Lie in prone posture. Bend the knees and hold the ankles by palm. As you inhale, raise the head and chest upwards. Pull the legs outwards and backwards so that the spine is arched back like a bow. Rest the abdomen and don't bend the elbows.
Now look up and keep the toes together. Stay for half a minute. Slowly come back to the normal position and relax.
This is one asana which helps in slimming the whole body and gives good flexibility to the back.
People with general debility should be cautious while doing this. This asana has to be practiced after expert consultation.
