Getting started with exercise

I am just getting started with trying to eat better and doing some workout routines. I have been out of it for about 1 1/2 yrs. Should I START OUT SLOW and should I worry more with losing weight or should it be where I take it slow? What about weights? Before we did heavy aerobics and never saw any big results. I need a well scheduled plan for doing this.

Beverly,
Congratulations on getting back into working out! The first step is always the hardest. Now, the biggest thing is staying consistent.
I do recommend starting slow. One time my dad decided he was going to start a weight training program. He began doing military presses with weights and developed some pain in his shoulders. Well, this pain caused him to stop exercising for a while and he never got back into it. So, go slow :)
I recommend doing strength training and aerobic exercise. If you need a well scheduled plan, I would recommend the Body for Life program. They have a ton of free resources on their website and both my husband and I have gotten great results using their program. You can check it out here:
