The Bean is good for ab crunches but not for the wallet
by Shelly
I've been an avid user of exercise balls over the last few years and include them in my regular work out. However, I've had a few of them pop on me.
So, I invested in the
exercise Bean because of the durability and the claim that it would not pop. That being said, it has held true to its promise.
I also like the super ab crunch you can do on the ball. You rock on it and it works the upper and lower abs and obliques at the same time. It fits against the body nicely and that exercise seems to work very effectively.
However, the other exercises including upper body and leg exercises I do I can just as easily do on my exercise ball. I don't typically do pilates or yoga with my ball, so I can't say that the bean works any better on those types of exercises.
My kids like the bean, but that's because it looks like a really cool chair. I do occasionally let them sit in it to relax, because I know that it is more durable. (I never let them play with my exercise balls because I don't want them to pop).
Also, the bean is a little larger than an exercise ball which makes it a little more difficult to store in my living room!
