Tree Pose
I have benefited from yoga in many different ways; but the main way has been that my stress level has decreased since I started 3 years ago. I began yoga because I heard it can clear your mind of worry and decrease tension.
My favorite yoga pose is the tree pose. By the time that I do the tree pose I have already completed at least 20-minutes of sun salutation poses and I feel the yoga heat all throughout my body, which is very relaxing. My mind has had time to focus and become more balanced; therefore, once I enter into the tree pose I am able to focus comfortably and any potential stress or worry has vanished.
This pose ushers me into the meditative state that refreshes and rejuvenates me along with a stable breathing pattern. Also, I tend to have more lower-body strength rather than upper-body. So I am able to stay in the tree pose for quite a while (up to 10-15 minutes) and continue to focus on a point until my mind is completely clear. This, to me, is the most powerful pose as it brings alignment and unity within my body, mind and soul.
